Miss Hattie’s Bordello Museum in San Angelo, TX

Miss Hattie’s Bordello Museum is an interpretive museum and tourist trap located at downtown San Angelo, TX. It claims to be the original building where “Miss Hattie”, a former brothel owner, operated from 1902-1952. The building itself is very interesting. It was constructed in 1906 and has a very unique style that looks like it was built by the Wright Brothers. It stands on the grounds of the old San Antonio Mission. The interior of the museum features numerous exhibits that show the history of the Bordello. There are also some great reproductions of paintings and photographs that have been found on-site and in other locations throughout the town. More can be found here.

The main attraction of Miss Hattie’s is the historic San Antonio Mission. This is where the founder of the town originally settled in. The mission was designed with many of the same elements as it was when it was first built. In fact, one of the biggest problems with relocating here is that all the old houses are situated in the same place. The main building still stands today and is located next to the Mission. The mission is open on Sunday afternoons for public viewing. Discover facts about A Guide To O C Fisher Lake.
